Passion 2012, Part II

hand of freedom, worship and justice!

Totals from Passion 2012

 $3,066,670 towards Ending Slavery

36,000 towels and 156,000 pairs of socks for local Atlanta homeless shelter

This happened in just four days with 42,000 college students leading the charge - "kids these days" are INSPIRING!

Outside of the Dome there was a plaza setup for students to participate in building an art sculpture - a symbol of freedom. On January 3rd the hand was finished and at midnight all 42,000 students lit candles on the plaza to remember the 27 million trapped in slavery.

Indifference is not an option

Passion 2012 was amazing - we're talking about a conference that encompasses Louie Giglio, Francis Chan, Beth Moore, John Piper, Chris Tomlin, Christy Nockels, Lecrae, Hillsong, David Crowder Band and the list goes on. . .but none of these people made the conference world changing - only Jesus did that!  I know that the ripple affects of Passion 2012 are going to be felt for years to come,  because lives were changed.

There are two stories that I know of where staff at the venue were saved because of the difference they saw in the students.  One lady asked a volunteer what was going on, what the conference was about.  The volunteer explained what Passion 2012 was and the lady said, "no, I feel this weight on my chest"  The volunteer said, "that's the spirit of God" - the lady broke into tears and ended up embracing the grace of God.  This isn't hype or an emotional decision - this is God's spirit moving.
